Yes, Femme! (2018)

A series of community spaces built by and for queer femmes of color. This project is rooted in social practice and builds on findings from participants in The FEMME Project who voiced a need for more femme-centered community spaces. Led by a steering committee of Eternity Clark, Jamisha Williams, M, Shayna Hargraves of Femmepremacy, and Jaime Lee, the series consisted of: Yes, Femme! Eat, a communal dinner; Yes, Femme! Fight, a self-defense workshop; Yes, Femme! Feels, an open mic and dance party; and Yes, Femme! Heal, a collective wellness night. The series culminated in an exhibition featuring The FEMME Project at MayDay Space. This project was made possible through the generous support of The Laundromat Project.
